This DVD player is worth more than its cost. The price is great for a full featured, multiple format player. For those of us waiting for Blueray players to become reasonably priced, this product fits the bill.
An awesome picture!

I got this to team up with the Panasonic 42" Plasma Viera tv & it really makes my dvd's alot sharper & clearer than before on a regular dvd player. Why buy a Blu-ray player & spend all the extra money on the Blu-ray dvd's when you don't have to?
A fine DVD player, if a little big

Hey, I got this DVD player about a month ago on the recommendation of AMB Media Services and it was well worth the cost. This player was recommended to us after our latest crappy cheapo DVD player started acting up. I just had to clear off the space on my teeny tiny TV cabinet so that this long, flat machine can hog all of the cabinet top space, but so far, I think it's TOTALLY worth it to get a DVD player that works all the time, everytime, and I'll never go cheapo again!
Great picture

I've tried several upscaling DVD players and this is the best picture I've seen so far. The player itself is very reliable and I've had no problems after several months of use. Panasonic is one of my favorite products and I find them to be very dependable.
Best option for playing DVD-RAM DVDs recorded by you

I own a Panasonic DMR-EZ485VK DVD recorder for recording about 5-8 shows per week off TV and then "power watching" them on weekends. I've learned that recording on DVD-RAM is MUCH nicer than other DVD formats due to easy editing (see my review under the recorder). The only CON is that they cannot be played on most (all?) other brands of DVD players. Hence, you need to buy Panasonic DVD players to watch your recorded DVDs at other locations.
If you ever think you will make your own DVD-RAM DVDs, buy this (or similar?) unit in anticipation.
