Just watched our first blu ray dvd and it was outstanding. For the price of this TV on Amazon, you cannot go wrong! Highly recommend you go to [...] and compare these tv specs with anything else that's out there. Non-glare screen is perfect for our very well lit, both sunlight and lighting living room - no glare! Only complaint is that I wish I should have gotten the 52".....my wife told me I would be sorry! :)
Great HDTV

When comparing picture quality with other LCD and Plasma TV's we found that the Mitsubishi Diamond HDTV beat the competition hands down. The colors are vivid from the black to the magenta and I absolutely love that we can adjust the color spectrum very easily. This is truly a great buy at this price. Don't buy a 720P when the Diamond series in far superior for a little more money.
Four Stars - So Far...

In February 2008, we purchased the Mitsubishi LT46244 which was the immediate predecessor of the LT46246. The first LT46244 lasted 15 minutes and then died. It was replaced and, four months later, experienced panel separation. That panel was replaced under warranty; 12 days after the one year warranty expired, the replacement panel separated. Mitsubishi had extended the manufacturer's warranty by a year, but was unable to get replacement panels. As a result, Mitsubishi replaced the defective LT46244 with its new model, the LT46246.
We noticed a significant improvement in the LT46246's color and clarity over the previous model. As we had done previously, we set the color on "bright" since the TV is being used in a brightly light room. Mitsubishi's "normal" setting was more washed out than we liked; however, were we using this set in a more dimly light room that setting would have been satisfactory. In fact, the color is so vivid that we have had two doves, a hummingbird, and a wren fly into the window that is directly opposite the television and 15 feet from it!
I have rated this television as a four star product for several reasons. The LT46244 had a matte screen which produced no glare in a brightly lighted room; the LT46246 screen does have a slight glare problem. However, if the panel is of better quality, I am more than willing to put up with the slight glare. It does not seem that Mitsubishi improved on the sound quality. That is not a major factor for my spouse and I as we are both tone-deaf; audiophiles will probably want to purchase a surround-sound system for better sound quality.
One final note - we did purchase an extended warranty from the local authorized Mitsubishi dealer. After the fiasco with the LT46244, we are taking no chances!
A beatiful TV that unfortunately had problems

Reviewer: Stephanie,
We got this TV for a steal in July and, unfortunately, just had to return it today. The picture quality really is quite amazing, and it is obvious that Mitsubishi has put a lot of thought into the design of the menus and features of their products. However, a couple of days ago we noticed a very thin vertical line running down the screen a few inches from the right side. Since we were just barely under our 30 days to return the TV to the store we purchased it from, we were able to bring it back without trouble. I've done some looking around online and have found that this same problem has occurred for lots of other owners, both on this model and the earlier model, the 46244. Rather than risk having the same issue again we have gone with the Samsung LN46B650 instead.
I am disappointed things didn't work out because we really were very happy with the performance of this TV. For our hard-earned money, however, we feel better about owning a model without any recurring issues. Best of luck!
Mitsubishi had to replace my 46 244 with this model. UPDATE TO REVIEW!!

Very unfortunate that my LT-46 244 had to be replaced in less than a year at Mitsubishi's cost. I now have this model and it has a very strange anomaly. My satellite receiver refuses to accept infra-red remote commands while this TV is on. I adjust the backlighting on the TV and the satellite receiver will accept infra-red for a short while, when it stops receiving one quick adjustment to the backlighting and it works again. None of my other infra-red remote devices have this issue. I have spoken to the satellite company and they have not heard of this issue either. I am only awarding 3 stars as the TV is beautiful as was my last Mitsubishi flat panel, yet the previous TV did not last a year. I will never buy another Mitsubishi TV again, as this was my worst consumer experience ever!
April 15, 2009 Mitsubishi delivered this model to my home.
January 7, 2010 this model developed the same issues as the LT46244 that this TV replaced.
